It must be nice to earn 32% more than the previous year. The flight attendants’ market rate adjustments that were applied in April 2010 varied from only .58% to 2.89%, totaling 11.16%. These adjustments were only for years 5 through 11. At the same time, new hires saw an 11.11% decrease in wages for their first six months.
Is that how the caring value works here at JetBlue? Take from one to give to another? We don’t know if our calculations have any merit, as we aren’t financial analysts; we’re just flight attendants who feel that something is just not right. Even after these market rate adjustments, we are still well below the industry average as you can see in our numerous pay comparisons. Don’t you think we deserve at least average?
